Eat, Drink and Give – a smashing success

February 12th, 2010 by Joel No comments »

The organizing committee of Eat, Drink and Give is proud to announce the total money raised for Medecins Sans Frontiers and their efforts in Haiti was in excess of $42,000. This amount qualifies for the government matching program that ends today.

A special thanks goes out to our sponsors – Lifford Wine Agency, Vintages, Foodiemeet, Spotlighttoronto.com, and Mediaspex. This success would not have been possible without the participating restaurants, wine producers, and of course the guests that came to show their support for MSF and Haiti. This would not have been possible with out you. We thank you all and look forward to future events.

The smooth sounds of Suzana Da Camara consists of artists Suzana Da Camara (vocals), Mike Dell (piano) and Randall Savoy (bass). The group’s unique blend of jazz, cabaret, world and pop has earned it critical audience acclaim in Canada and abroad. Influenced by their Canadian and Portuguese heritage, their music explores themes of love, life and relationships in English, French and Portuguese. Their latest album, “Proof of Love” provides a fresh, yet vintage-inspired sound.  Their last album, which is self titled, won rave reviews from the CBC, Jazz FM and the UK’s Whisperin & Hollerin, as well as two Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards nominations. Suzana Da Camara’s music defies convention and has been winning over the hearts of music fans with their raw originality and endearing whimsy. The band has toured throughout Europe and Canada.
